Your Story, One Community

Your Story, One Community

A Jewish Life is a new podcast exploring Jewish identity and community life through the diverse stories of individuals; leaders, activists, creative thinkers, parents, grandparents, rebels, explorers and anyone with a story to tell.

As we hear people share their lives with us, we participate in a unique kind of learning, one that allows us to see ourselves in the experiences of others and to gain new insights into ideas and issues in our own lives.  As the philosopher Hannah Eredt once said, hearing stories “reveal meaning without committing the error of defining it.”  Truth finds its way to us through the path of life, and through listening to the journeys of others we find our own place in the greater web of our community.

Based in Montreal, Québec, we begin our podcast with this unique Jewish community, but plan to move beyond as the project grows.  A Jewish Life is a reminder that the strength of Judaism can be found in you.  In your story we can remember and look forward to a more hopeful future.

A Jewish Life was created and is hosted by Boris Dolin, rabbi of Congregation Dorshei Emet, in Montreal, Quebec.
